This year marks the revival and re branding of the Asian Tri Nations in a month filled with Rugby activity. The month of August marks the start of ‘Rugby Super Month’ with the first weekend having the Worldwide Inaugural IRB Medical Educators course followed by a level 1 and 2 First Aid in Rugby and Pitch Side Care. This course hosts participants from Korea, Iran, UAE, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. We have a break to celebrate our Nations birthday and the third weekend we roll out a National Level 3 Coaching Course in tandem with a Match Officials course.
All participants will put their newly learned skills to use on the 18th of August when Singapore play Hong Kong A, 21st August when the two visiting teams play each other and finally the International Test Match pitting Singapore against Chinese Taipei which will affect World rankings.
After Singapore’s recent win against rivals Malaysia at the Petaling Jaya Stadium and promotion to Division 1 next year of the Asian 5 Nations this will be a good lead up especially with all the local talent emerging from youth Rugby and the Singapore Rugby Union Standard Chartered Bank Rugby Academy.
We will see the likes of Gaspar Tan who is currently Singapore’s most capped player. There will be plenty of activities for everyone as the Yio Chu Kang Stadium is transformed to a Mini Village with Food drinks and games. Clinics run by the National Team Players and Visiting teams.
