SSRUR 2017 Kit Launch & Updates
The year got off to a great start with the launch of the new SSRUR referee attire, as modelled by Rupert Bray (left). A big thank you to our shirt sponsors, Rugbypass and Torstone Technology for their continued support.
The Match Fee Structure for 2017 was also introduced by SRU General Manager, George Danapal. The fee structure is designed to ensure that referees are suitably reimbursed for expenses incurred whilst on duty, in addition to providing an incentive for referees to aspire to officiate at a higher standard of games. Please visit the Referee resources tab in the SRU website for more information.
With the success of the recent Level 1 Match Officiating courses, SSRUR recently announced the introduction of the Junior Referee Panel, with 4 new members aged 14-16 taking up the whistle as Junior Referees. We are very excited at the prospect of helping promote the next generation of referees as their take their first steps towards what we hope will be a bright future. Keep an eye out for our Junior Referees at the upcoming JRCS and ACSIS junior rugby competitions. (right: Mary Pringle & Aiden Jenelik)
