Registered first aid trainers and World Rugby medical trainers from Aris Integrated Medical (www.aris-im.com) and the Singapore Rugby Union (www.singaporerugby.com) have combined to launch a Singapore first aid course which meets the needs of both general and sports communities. Successful participants will receive a Singapore accredited Standard First Aid (SFA) certificate and an internationally recognised sport specific certificate, issued by World Rugby.

This course is suitable for individuals with little or no medical background, who need to acquire Singapore Standard First Aid (SFA) certification, but who also wish to be trained in sports-specific first aid skills. This could include coaches, teachers, parents, sports officials, players and any others who may be asked to respond to an injured athlete at a sports event or during training. These skills would also be useful to individuals responding to injuries or accidents in their work or home. The course will allow them to apply first aid confidently in their work, home and in sport.

While catastrophic and life or limb threatening injuries are not common in sport, it is essential when they do occur that the attending personnel are appropriately prepared and trained for such incidents. The sports component of this course will include first aid skills particularly those specific to contact sports and considerations needed when planning for contact sports events, especially rugby.

The course is conducted by locally-based instructors with experience in military trauma care, medical first aid, pre-hospital immediate care and sports medicine education. These instructors are Healthcare professionals who are actively involved in sports in Singapore.

Course certifications:

  • Standard First Aid (Valid for 2 years)
  • NRC-CPR certificate (Valid for 2 years)
  • World Rugby FAIR (First Aid in Rugby, Medical L1) (Valid for 2 years)
