Read MoreThe Singapore Rugby Union conducted the Match Day Commissioner and Team Manager workshops in August 2017. This is the first time that SRU has hosted these courses and the uptake has been very encouraging.
A total of 21 participants from all rugby clubs in Singapore participated in the workshops which aim to improve pitch side control, match day administration and player welfare awareness at Singapore Rugby’s tournaments.
Singapore Men’s U20 were crowned plate champions while Singapore Women’s U20 came in 5th at the Asia Rugby U20 Sevens Series held in Hong Kong from 4-5th August 2017. The men finished the tournament with three wins, one draw and two losses while the women managed two wins out of six matches in their round robin style tournament.
The Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) has named the Men’s and Women’s rugby sevens squads that will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to compete at the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. The SEA Games Rugby 7s competition will be held on 19-20th August 2017. Both teams have been hard in training and preparation to better their podium finish at the 28th edition of the regional multisport games, where they won Bronze (Mens) and Silver (Women) medals at home in Singapore.
