SRU PREMIERSHIP REVIEW – 9TH DECEMBER 17

With SCC having lost to Bucks via a last gasp try in the previous week’s edition of Premiership rugby, they were intent on making a statement this weekend. This week, SCC played hosts to the Bedok Kings, who saw their first match postponed due to lightning alerts. The stage was set on the Padang for a tense clash, and the hosts promised just that by scoring in the 2nd minute via a lineout maul through the physically imposing Faris Bajandouh.

SRU Premiership Review – 2nd December 17

In a repeat of last year’s final, Wanderers RFC and Bucks RFC faced off once again last weekend at Turf City, both with points to prove. Narrowly losing out on the title last season with their first and only defeat of the campaign to the Bucks in the finals, the Wanderers hoped to open their account with a win. Title-holders Bucks RFC, however, coming off from a strong 21-14 win against the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) last weekend, looked not only to extend their lead at the top of the table, but prove that their status as champions was no fluke.

Singapore Select U19 Match Review

The team of 24 players left the causeway to play an U19 international friendly match against Malaysia as part of the Asia Rugby U19 Division 1 preparations.

Led by U19 Captain Ryan Sek from Bedok Kings, the team is quietly confident of their own ability.

SRU Premiership Review – 25th November 17

The eagerly anticipated SRU Premiership League 17/18 began last Saturday with two matches to be played. Singapore Cricket Club played Bucks RFC at Dempsey Field, while Bedok Kings RFC were to play Wanderers RFC at Turf City. The latter match which due to poor weather conditions, had to be postponed. Regardless, we were still treated to a massively entertaining and exciting week of rugby thanks to the intense game of rugby served up between SCC and Bucks, the reigning champions.
