Read MoreWith SCC having lost to Bucks via a last gasp try in the previous week’s edition of Premiership rugby, they were intent on making a statement this weekend. This week, SCC played hosts to the Bedok Kings, who saw their first match postponed due to lightning alerts. The stage was set on the Padang for a tense clash, and the hosts promised just that by scoring in the 2nd minute via a lineout maul through the physically imposing Faris Bajandouh.

Title-holders Bucks RFC, however, coming off from a strong 21-14 win against the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) last weekend, looked not only to extend their lead at the top of the table, but prove that their status as champions was no fluke.

Read MoreThe eagerly anticipated SRU Premiership League 17/18 began last Saturday with two matches to be played. Singapore Cricket Club played Bucks RFC at Dempsey Field, while Bedok Kings RFC were to play Wanderers RFC at Turf City. The latter match which due to poor weather conditions, had to be postponed. Regardless, we were still treated to a massively entertaining and exciting week of rugby thanks to the intense game of rugby served up between SCC and Bucks, the reigning champions.
